Friday morning I went with Citizens UK to try and persuade David Cameron to attend the CitizensUK assembly pre-election. He ducked out (as the guardian put it). It’s problematic because he opted for an easy ride rather than facing an important group – sending junior minister instead. Here’s my response recorded on Friday afternoon, but held off until today because there was a chance he might turn up. Some of the key issues Citizens UK put forward in their manifesto are things I agree with. But speaking from the pulpit the issue is wider (or narrower, depending on your point of view). So this is my response.

And this is how the guardian and the independent wrote up the event.
